The beautiful Hotel la Mariposa is situated on the crossover between the Sierra Espuña nature park/reserve and the Barrancos de Gebas which is known locally as the "Badlands".

Because of the hotels location it is a perfect base for walking either on the nature reserve or the badlands, we offer guides for walking but we also have many official walking maps and guide books available for guests to use, our experienced guide has also devised a fantastic folder of walks not available on official maps and every one of them is quite spectacular.

We run our own walking group and operate twice monthly guided walks which are always very well received. The hotel itself has its own restaurant and bar, a large restaurant terrace that overlooks the Barrancos de gebas, a swimming pool with large sun terrace and gardens.

We also have a small gym and have mountain bikes for hire as well as quad bike tours.
