Walking in Catalonia - River Ebro Apartments

River Ebro Apartments are situated on the banks of the River Ebro in Southern Catalonia and enjoy panoramic views over the river and to the mountains. A wonderful countryside base for walkers, birders and nature lovers whilst being a only a few minutes walk to shops and restaurants and a 30 minute drive to the Costa Dorada.

Southern Catalonia is a wonderful land of contrasts and has no less than 3 Natural parks.The Sierra del Montsant and the Els Ports are mountain chains which have fantastic, virtually unknown walking trails and dramatic landscapes. Here you may see golden eagles and vultures soaring overhead or even be lucky enough to get a glimpse of the Spanish Ibex. In the valleys you will pass acres of almond, peach, pear or cherry orchards and enjoy the many ancient villages. In sharp contrast the Ebro Delta is completely flat and is a watery land of lagoons, rice paddies, salt lakes and reed beds which form a unique ecosystem supporting hundreds of species of birds.

Or why not try the Via Verde – a disused railway lines that cuts through spectacular mountain scenery and has a series of tunnels, viaducts and old railway stations. The surface is wide, flat and asphalted and has few steep gradients which making it ideal for families with children, the elderly or even mobility impaired.

We have a large selection of leaflets and maps for self-guided walking. Guided walks with local professionals which include information about the nature, history and legends of the area can also be arranged.

Apartment “Birds” offers stylish 1 bedroom accommodation for up to 4 people. The comfortable open-plan lounge and kitchen has patio doors to the dining-terrace at the front of the property with magnificent views over the river. At the rear is a further large, private terrace with sun-loungers and swing seat.

Apartment "Butterflies" provides spacious, comfortable accommodation for up to 7 people and also enjoys views over the River Ebro.

Both apartments are spacious and bright with good quality furnishings and fittings and ample crockery, utensils and appliances. For indoor relaxation you have Satellite TV, DVD, radio/CD player, a selection of CDs and DVDs, books and board games. The apartment rental also includes free use of our mountain bikes and many other complimentary extras.
