Walking in Andalucia - Walk Alpujerra

At Trek-alpujarra we offer 3 to 7 day walking holidays. Whether you want guided or unaccompanied walks, we can arrange itineraries to suit your needs. We also offer bed and breakfast accommodation for the independent traveller.

We walk on tried and tested routes through spectacular scenery, following old mule trails and ancient water ways. All walks require a moderate level of fitness, the terrain is not difficult but most walks include steep ascents and descents.

All walking holiday packages include bed, breakfast, packed lunch, evening meal, snacks and drinks, guided walking or detailed route descriptions and maps, transport througout the holiday including airport transfers.

Trek-alpujarra is situated in the tranquil Alpujarran village of Jorairatar, set in the hillside of the Contraviesa overlooking the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Jorairatar lies on part of the GR142 walking route which runs from East to West of Las Alpujarras. Local people use mules and donkeys while working on the land using traditional methods, the women of the village still use the open air 'lavadero' to do their daily washing. The village is home of the Museum of Las Alpujarras.

The house has recently been refurbished. Accommodation for guests comprises of three twin bedrooms with two bathrooms and a kitchen/breakfast room. Guests also have access to our living room with TV, DVD and internet access. There are two roof terraces where you can relax with stunning views of the Sierra Nevada. Evening meals are often served on the roof terrace.
