Laguna de los Jarales Natural Reserve

Overview
The Laguna de los Jarales reserve covers 122ha and consists of a saline lake and its surrounding shores.  It provides an important breeding and overwintering site for many birds.

Animals/Birds
During winter ducks flock here.  It is a permanent home for coots, mallards and moor hens to name but a few.  In autumn the reserve attracts waders.  Frogs and toads live here in large numbers.

The lake is surrounded by tamarisks, rushes and reeds with olive groves on the outer edges.
