Embalse de Cordobilla Natural Area

Overview
The Embalse de Cordobilla Natural Area includes a reservoir and immediate surrounding area on the Genil river.  It covers 1,460ha.  As with all water sources it is an important area for birds.

Animals/Birds
Resident birds include white-headed ducks, purple gallinules, grey and purple herons, and white storks. In winter the area become home to red-crested pochards, widgeons, gadwalls, mallards and cranes.

Plants
Reedbeds, bulrushes, tamarisk and willows are the predominate plants.
